Eco-Conscious Gift Wrapping This Year...

I got to thinking this year about how much waste is generated around the holidays, with non-reusable shiny bags and gift wrap and synthetic materials used in ribbons and bows that require an enormous amount of energy and toxic chemicals. I thought I'd do my part to use wrapping materials that when sent to a landfill after disposal, will break down harmlessly...
Simple brown kraft paper, burlap and raffia bows; pretty plain and lovely in a getting back down to the basics kind of way, and this is what I'm going with. I'll know that when the recipient of my gift throws the wrapping in the trash, the materials will biodegrade...back to nature...the way it should be.
Think about it!
